Bachelor’s degree – 4 years. Master’s degree – 4.5 years. Doctoral dissertation – 2-4 years.

Thus, higher technical education in the U.S. meets the expectations of applicants and the American professional field itself. More than 80% of technical university graduates in the USA work in the technological companies of the country, as well as in state and municipal spheres.

When it comes to the employment of graduates of U.S. technical universities, this area is more attractive for Russian graduates. Despite the fact that entry-level technology graduates mostly work within the Bologna Process, employment levels in the U.S. and Canada are significantly different.

The salary level for entry-level engineers in the U.S. averages $80,000-120,000 per year (depending on the region), a mid-level engineer earns $120,000-170,000 in Canada $110,000-130,000, and in Eastern Europe and Russia $200,000-220,000. In particular, in the U.S. the salary of a design engineer reaches $1000-1200 per hour.

It is noteworthy that most American engineers work in the structure of the public sector, while private enterprises employ only mid-level specialists, as we will discuss further.

At the same time, the higher education obtained in Europe fully meets the criteria for employment in the USA – the salary level is by an order of magnitude higher than in the USA, although it is noticeably inferior to the salary level of American engineers of the primary (bachelor’s) and secondary (master’s) level.
