Latent sexual infections

It is believed that man-made factors, in particular, environmental degradation and deterioration of the quality of nutrition contribute to a decrease in immunity. This leads to the appearance of so-called hidden infections, which often occur asymptomatically, but affect the state of the body and its reproductive function as a whole.

Today, the most common latent infections are chlamydia, mycoplasmosis, ureaplasmosis, herpes, cytomegalovirus. It is almost impossible to determine these diseases without special diagnostics, and patients go to the doctor only with exacerbations, or even not at all. The insidiousness of hidden infections is that they cause many complications, one of which is infertility. Hidden infections are difficult to treat even with the help of antibiotics, and due to the absence of symptoms, a patient who feels like a healthy man, after recovering, may become infected again and not even know about it.

The consequences of latent infections can be different, it all depends on the form and degree of the disease. Infections in advanced form can lead to prostatitis, vesiculitis, epididymitis. These diseases are accompanied by a rise in body temperature, general malaise and symptoms requiring immediate medical intervention: the appearance of blood in the urine, pain in the lower abdomen and groin, burning, urge or, conversely, difficulty urinating, which can lead to acute urinary retention.

How to identify hidden infections?

Hidden infections are very dangerous for humans also because they can be detected only when examined by a doctor and given special PCR tests that can detect the pathogen in the DNA of the cell. DNA diagnostics is currently the most reliable test for hidden infections. A blood test is performed, as a rule, if infection with syphilis, HIV (AIDS), hepatitis B and C. Special (highly differentiated) tests for latent infections are necessary in some cases. You can consult a doctor about these diagnostic methods for latent sexual infections.

Treatment

Treatment of latent infections is complex, includes the use of antibacterial drugs to which this infection is sensitive. The course of treatment may include the appointment of immunomodulators, enzymes, hepatoprotectors, bacterial preparations. Physiotherapy methods are also used: laser therapy, ultrasound, currents.
